How to get your flu and COVID-19 vaccines
Am I eligible?
The flu and COVID-19 vaccines are recommended for people at higher risk of getting seriously ill if they catch the viruses.
You can get both the NHS flu and COVID-19 vaccines if you:
- are aged 65 or over (including those who will be 65 by 31 March 2025)
- have certain health conditions
- are pregnant
- are a frontline health or social care worker
- live in a care home for older adults
If you are the main carer for an older or disabled person, or receive a carer’s allowance, or live with someone who has a weakened immune system you can also get the free NHS flu vaccine.
Children aged 2 and 3 years old can get the children’s flu vaccine at their GP surgery. School-aged children will get their flu vaccine through their school immunisation team – just complete this online consent form, you will need the schools unique code.
How to get the flu vaccine
If you’re eligible for an NHS flu vaccine, you can find a pharmacy that offers NHS flu vaccination (if you’re aged 18 or over), or contact your GP surgery to book an appointment.
How to get the COVID-19 vaccine
If you’re eligible for the winter COVID-19 vaccine, you can go to a walk-in COVID-19 vaccination site.
