What is the virtual ward?
The virtual wards (VW) will provide hospital-level care and remote monitoring for patients who would otherwise be in hospital, either by preventing admissions or allowing them to return home sooner to continue their treatment at home (including care homes). It will deliver high quality care safely for people in the comfort of their own home –which is often where they would rather be.
The innovative approach means support can be offered with remote monitoring using apps, technology platforms, wearables and medical devices. Support may also involve face-to-face personalised care from multi-disciplinary teams based in the community,
We have long established VW services across our acute trust sites, Bradford Teaching Hospitals Foundation Trust and Airedale NHS Foundation Trust. This provides an excellent foundation for us to build upon.
Do you want to be part of this exciting and innovative service?
We are excited to announce that we have permanent opportunities available that will support and deliver our expanded VW offer. The roles are advertised on NHS Jobs, if you filter your search to include the key word ‘Virtual Ward’ and add Bradford/Steeton as a location, this should show all available vacancies.
The roles will be based at Airedale NHS Foundation Trust, Bradford Teaching Hospital Foundation Trust and Bradford District Care Trust. Some roles will provide direct delivery of the Virtual Ward (both face to face and using remote technology) and some will entail working within a community team delivering the Virtual Ward as part of a wider offer.
